In Our Neighborhood
Knitting and Crocheting
Perhaps knitting or crocheting was a hobby you once had and might be thinking about starting again, but you are feeling a little rusty… No matter your skill, there is a place at the table for you, and friends that will help guide or instruct you to get you started. Everyone is welcome to join us as we socialize and work on our latest project. The group meets every other Wednesday from 10am to 12pm. Please call the office for the next meeting date.
Neighborhood Library Stand
Grace Lutheran offers a Free Library Stand with free books to borrow, keep or trade. It runs on the honor system for our friends of all ages, in the community. Sharing your favorite book is a great way to connect with the neighbors and encourage kids to read. We have a little bench under a shaded tree; the perfect place to lose yourself while reading.
Each year we commemorate the life of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, with a Pet Blessing. This year the blessing will be held during our Sunday service on October 8, 2023, at 10am. If you would like to have your pet blessed, you can email a photo with your pet’s name and a little history to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 1st, or you may come and hold up a photo of your pet during the blessing. The service is live streamed and will be available on YouTube and Facebook. Please call the church office for more information at 410-828-5115.
Pleasure Reading Club
The Pleasure Reading Book Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Together, we select a book to read and then we share our thoughts using an outline to lightly guide us in conversation. Light refreshments are served as we laugh and enjoy our time together.
Bring your book/genre suggestions and come join us. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of our Meditation Garden, created in loving memory of Dorothy and Louis Kaste. It’s a lovely place where you can spend time with God, say your prayers, and just listen to the whisper of His voice. The Meditation Garden invites us to slow down, reflect and refocus.
